What does you troop do, for Troop Dues? Our troop has been fortunate to get by with fundraising, but I hear many troops charge monthly dues in order to offer a more robust program.

My troop does weekly dues. I never did dues when I was in scouts because we always did a lot of fund raising. We do them so that the boys learn the responsibility to bring dues every week and when they miss a week they know they need to make up for it. It's only a dollar a week so it's not much.
